Natural Gardening begins

Matt, Seth, and Helen helped me start gardening this year. I plan to develop my butterfly garden and invite other critters into the yard.
We started by planting a yucca, some grasses, liriope, and purple coneflowers in the corner garden below the street sign.
10 plants were blooming, including tulip tree, blackberries, my Mother's Day peony and numerous unid'd plants.
The boys found a worm snake (Carphophis amoenus amoenus) while they were clearing weeds. The snake tangled itself into a knot and couldn't move. Did not sound terribly bright to us.
